Fun with Grammy

Grammy came to help my Mommy out with Deklan. This boy had a blast! Grammy has more energy than anyone I know...probably even more than me because she can run and play and doesn't even need a nap! We colored and played ball. She showed me how to rake and sweep all the leaves off Daddy's deck. I am the best helper ever! When we went to get baby Deklan some cute clothes at Old Navy, Grammy let me pick out any hat I wanted. I got this trendy little number. What do you think? Grammy liked it because her dad (my Great Grandpa) used to wear hats just like this all the time. He would have gotten a kick out of me.
Emerson and I took my new stroller out for a ride this week. Our moms will have their hands full in October when they are both pushing around 2 boys each. The stroll made us hungry, so we decided to share some pretzels.
Lots of people have been stopping by to meet my little brother. I love him very much. I cuddle with him and like to touch his face (don't worry, I'm gentle).

My cousin, Brandon, came up and he brought me this awesome Buzz Quad...he said that everyone was probably bringing Deklan stuff and he wanted to bring me something. He is so very thoughtful...and as you can see I absolutely love my toy. I like to run it into stuff and then crack up laughing. Crazy driver!

Little Buddy

Having Deklan here has been great. First thing this boy noticed was that things weren't really normal this week. Mom and Dad weren't here so Grandma and I hung out. I didn't have to sleep in my bedroom; Grandma and I had a slumber party instead. I didn't have to take a nap, either. Then, I got to visit Mommy and Daddy at the hospital and see baby Deklan. He is little, but cute! When I was there I got a milkshake. Grandma and Papaw gave me a golf club set to play with, Grandma B gave me an official Woody cowboy hat, then Emmy brought me a Colts sippy. If getting a new brother means getting all kinds of thoughtful gifts from my loved ones then I am totally up for my parents having more of them! The next day was a little bit of a bummer. I was missing my parents and battling a touch of the fever. Sadly, I didn't get to see brother until Friday. When I did I got another milkshake, some tools from Owi, Spillmans brought me a Woody Buzz plate to eat some tasty cake on, and my neighbors gave me a cool train whistle. Then, when Deklan came home he brought me my very own basketball hoop. He's a keeper! Seriously, this being a big brother stuff is awesome!
Even better than all of the nice stuff people have given me is having my baby Deklan home with me. I love to cuddle, snuggle, and kiss him. I also help Mommy with his dirty diapers by throwing them away in the trash for her. Mom can't quit telling me what a great big brother and helper I am.
Deklan cries pretty often and he is really loud when he does. I started mocking him today. I do a really great impression of him! When he was getting a little fussy I walked over to him and said (repeatedly) "come on buddy". Mom and Dad thought it was adorable. Many times I just like to lay my head on his. He is a sweety. Deklan has been sleeping a lot which has given me some good time to play with Mommy and Daddy. I think we're all adjusting nicely so far. If only we could figure out our bedtime routine as that's something I have been struggling with so far. The crib is just too easy to climb out of.
I am loving this new adventure and can't wait to see what lies ahead and get to know my new little buddy. See you next week!

Last day to fly solo...

Well, the suspense has come to an end. Mommy didn't go into labor yet and the doctor said my brother needs to come join us. So, tomorrow at 6am Mommy will get induced and my baby brother will be here. I'll post more in a day or two with pictures and news on that along with his blog address. For now, here are some pictures from my last days as an only child.
I went to my buddy Emerson's 2nd birthday party. What an awesome time! I dug into the cake "piggy" style (I am not a fan of getting stuff on my hands). I got to see some friends and check out all of Emerson's new toys. Sweet!
Daddy and I horsed around tonight by putting my sand shapers on our heads. I called it Daddy's hat and Ryker's hat. We are a hoot!
We have had such a good week, our last as the 3 musketeers. We went to have frozen yogurt at Huddles and ran on the Monon this weekend. Mom and I spent tons of time together. I recently learned how to climb out of my crib so we took naps together this week and did lots of indoor activities. My new favorite is coloring. I know almost all of my colors. I'm quite the artist.
I will see you soon with news about my bro. Please check back and follow along with his adventures, too!

Time with my friends...

I've been really fortunate to spend a lot of time with my friends this week. My bud, Emerson, came over to play twice and both times we spent forever running around speaking gibberish (well our Moms think so but we know what we are saying), chasing one another, and banging on walls. It sounds crazy but its this boy's idea of a good time. We also acquainted ourselves with Daddy's foosball table. Watch out, Dad...I'll give you a run for your money someday.
I also had a great day playing at McKynzie and Addisyn's house, along with Brayden and Emerson. McKynzie (or Mixie as I pronounce it) has a sweet set up! She's got a toddler slide, giant beach ball sprinkler, kiddie pool, and water table. Emerson and I were running, jumping, and yelling a lot as we took in all the cool toys. Mixie plays at a lower decibel than we do. Must be a girl thing? She's a cutie and I look forward to hanging out with her again, soon!

Mom and I are embracing our last few daytimes together, just the two of us, before baby brother arrives. She let me pick out some donuts at the grocery store yesterday and because I was such a good boy during our shopping trip she let me snack on them on the ride home. They looked just about the right size to plop in my mouth, whole. Yummy!
See you soon (hopefully) with news about my baby brother's birth...if not then be praying for my Mommy because she's feeling really uncomfortable right now and if he doesn't show up soon she's going to explode!

I do all my own stunts...

Mommy says that I am a very active boy. So, it takes a lot of activity to wear me out. Grandma visited me this week to give Mom a break and she knows how to tucker me out...with her super-Grandma strength she swings me around and gets me laughing my head off.
I have been playing a lot of basketball, sinking shots from 4-5 feet away these days. Daddy has been helping me fine tune my baseball skills. We are working on my catching and throwing and I am getting better everyday.
Then there's my new found equine skills. It's too easy to just ride and bounce on my horsey these days, so I had to shake things up and start riding it while standing. Where do I come up with these ideas?
