Has it been a year?

The last couple of weeks I have been patiently awaiting Deklan's birthday. My anticipation started building so far out because it seemed like we were getting something for his party for the last two months. Has it really been a whole year since he arrived? Wow, time flies! I love my little brother! He and I are buddies. We love playing together, we are great at sharing our toys, and we love laughing. I am so glad to be his big brother!

To celebrate his birthday, we had two parties. Because he turned one officially on Thursday, Mom and Dad and I had a little party for him. I gave him a present that I picked out all by myself: a bubble machine. He got his very first baseball bat from our parents. Now we each have 1st birthday Louisville Sluggers! I helped Mommy bake a cake and we had all of Deklan's favorites: pork chops, asparagus, and watermelon. Yum! Boy, does he ever gobble down the asparagus! It was a good time, but the big party was the next day. (Mom will post more of those pictures on his blog for you.) My cousins came down to share his big day. We broke in that bubble machine, too. I pick out pretty great gifts, if I do say so myself!
I helped him blow out the candle.

My gift for Deklan. I was so excited to watch him open it.

Mom caught this on camera, as he was opening his present. I was so happy to make him smile. Mom thought that was so cute!

Reaping the benefits of my sweet gift!
Fun with the cousins...and the bubble machine!

I've been up to a lot lately, but you'll actually have to wait til later for most of the pictures. I went to the fair twice. The first time I went with my friends. I've got some great pics of that on the way. The next time we went sans camera but plus Daddy. He's better than a camera any day! We ate lots of tasty food. We got to see Connor at the pork tent. Then I went on the ferris wheel with Mommy to cap off the night. Fun, fun! I went to Emerson's 3rd birthday party where we golfed and had a great time celebrating my very best friend in the whole wide world. He and I have also had a lot of fun playing around at the park. Those pics are still in the works, but I promise to post all the fun soon. The good news is I do have a few other pictures for you. I hopped in Deklan's 12 mos photo shoot so there are a couple of pics from that below.

Mimi watched D and I during Mom's Bible study the last few weeks. We had a great time with her, watching Wipeout and having fun in the family room. Here is a pic from our fort. We built this and Mom thought it was so cute. I was the king, setting on the baseball thrown, with my baseball "flag" waving above the giant baseball castle. Deklan was trying to scale the castle walls...but after a while I just told him to come in with me...no need to break in.

I had a fun movie outing with my girl, Allison, too. We watched the new Winnie the Pooh movie. It was awesome!

Can I tell you again how much I loved this summer? I did. I had so much fun outside, playing with my friends, and doing so many fun things like fairs, movies, pools, parks, etc. I'm determined to squeeze a couple more fun things in before it is over with. Won't you check back soon for the pictures I promised you and updates on my latest adventures?

A visit from my cousins...

For several months, I've been anticipating this weekend. I love time with my cousins, so I wanted to take them to some of my favorite spots. We headed to the Children's Museum for a full day of fun. We started at science works, then off to the carousel. I resolved (after my last ride) to try riding on a horsie this time. However, they were still too intimidating...so I sat on the chair again with Daddy. No worries, after the carousel we hit the play place and then on to the games where I beat Mom at tic-tac-toe. We hit the playscape and then Dora (where I did some rock climbing) followed by lunch. Lastly we hit National Geographic and the dinos. I even tried scuba diving!

Grandma and Chandler came over to spend time with us while Mom and Dad spent some time with Aunt Nessa, Uncle Tyler, Aunt B and Uncle E. They went to the symphony, which doesn't sound half as fun as playing here with my cousins...so I was glad they left us here!
The next day, Lainie joined us for some fun at the splash park. We saw some of our friends from church there, too. We had such a blast playing in the stream and the sprinklers. I was sad to see our time end, but they'll be down to visit us again when Deklan turns one in a little over a week!

You are probably wondering what else I've been up to lately. Aside from hanging out with a lot of my friends, I also had to make a quick stop to the doctor for a serious cut on my chin. We thought it was going to need stitches (I was floundering like Nemo in the bathtub and got a little carried away). Instead, the doctor glued it together (which lasted less than 24 hrs). Here is a picture of my bandaged up boo boo. Mom was so thankful it didn't need stitches, though...so was the doctor. For some reason they thought I'd be a handful to stitch up!

I'll be back soon with tales from the fair, the movies, and Emerson's 3rd birthday. See you then!
